If you’re as much of a pack rat as I am, you should have at least a partial set of old TV trays around somewhere. They are lightweight, tough as nails (or they would have broken long ago), and are quite useful for certain types of camping. They make a nice stand for your two-burner camp stove, a space-saving food-prep table, a perch for the lantern, or any number of other uses. A word of caution, however, those little plastic clips that snap them together can pop out. Don’t forget the duct tape, especially under a pan of sizzling beer-battered fish fillets.
